Desert Flow

Semester VII  | Location: Negev Desert, Israel

Team Members: Dafna Galeen, Dafna Yehezqel

This project was born out of movement. This tool is one of the important an architect has. The design of this building is hidden in the desert cliffs. When you enter the building, as a visitor or a hiker, you feel like you are hiking in amazing view of the desert. The stairs and connection between the spaces take you to an unforgettable experience inside the building. While the visitor go from the café to the art workshop or the ‘refreshing stop’ of the building, they can feel as in a hike, exploring the structure elements. There are glass  walls and are position to expose the desert view in the right time and spot.

We choose to build our visitor and hikers center in a small town in the Negev desert of Israel. This site give us the opportunities to deal with the unique characteristics of the area, such as climate, population and cliffs.

This project is part of construction technologies course which involves construction details.
