The specialization of spatial designers sometimes leads to a very narrow view of a particular field. In this way, things are missed along the way.
One of these elements is retaining walls.
Retaining walls, common in mountainous cities, are treated purely as technical solutions. They're costly, prone to failure, and create alienating, repetitive barriers in the urban landscape. They disconnect street elements and ignore their surroundings.
I aim to transform retaining walls from passive, wasted infrastructure into active, integrated urban spaces—turning topographic challenges into design opportunities.
The project explores how humans and nature can live togther. the programma is a rowing club and sustainability center between two major cities and near a river and sea. The site is surrounded by nature areas.
Over the years, the city of Tel Aviv has developed through planning and ideological ideas
established. On the other hand, the site and its surroundings remained largely without a conceptual infrastructure
served as the city's backyard. Thanks to the transportation and employment infrastructure
In the area, the site became the "Gate of the City" for many days, but it suffers from a lack of infrastructure
quality for the pedestrians who drain into it. We offer to return the green to the city!
The project offers a new perspective on the existing market today. The addition of the public piazza consists of a food court that serves fresh food thanks to its close connection to the market.
